Marina Life With A Small Town Feel

Gig Harbor, so named by 3 fishermen who rowed a small “gig” or narrow boat into the almost hidden bay in 1841 has matured but in many ways stayed the same. The gem of downtown, as always is the marina.

Originally a small fishing village, now you can still find many working boats moored here next to luxury world class yachts.

Handsome custom-built homes line Harborview Drive. Across the street, you will find Jerisich Dock and Skansie Brothers Park. This is where the largest Farmers Market in the area is held along with delightful public events all year long.

When in season, the Gig Harbor Trolley is a delightful way to see a little bit of everything that downtown Gig Harbor has to offer.

Anthony’s and the Green Turtle offer high-end seafood and steak dishes. Newcomer, 7 Seas Brewery is a wonderful place to sample the local flavor by means of a pint.

Not to be overlooked is the Tides Tavern that has held its own since 1930. Ask a local, just about everyone has a story about “The Tides”. Take the time to sit out on the deck and slurp some oysters, you won’t regret it!
